I have been rereading for a second time, a series of books written by Dr Michael Lake. It has been the clearest explanation of the Iniquity force and how it is powered, that I have come across. It really clarified my thoughts and understanding on what happened back at the beginning in the Garden of Eden. I would like to recommend them to those who are wanting to clean up, make their robes white, in the anticipation of our soon coming Bridegroom.

I found it encouraging that Dr Lake used the Tabernacle as the pattern to understand our relationship with our creator and the three heavens as recorded in the Bible.

I am blessed by the insights in Dr Lake’s books. One in particular I would like to quote here from Chapter Eleven of The Kingdom Priesthood. The Priesthood and Carrying the Name of God.

    “The reason that I started this chapter with the Aaronic blessing is because many in the body of Christ are trying to turn it into another formula to receive the blessing of God, to the point of it resembling a spell or incantation. Nothing could be further from the truth! Our Gentile minds have not been renewed to the point of seeing through Hebraic eyes, regarding the specific blessing God instructed the priests to speak over the nation of Israel.

     The Hebrew language is very visually orientated. From the feasts all the way down to the fringe on the hem of Israel’s garments, God was painting pictures for all to see and understand. The stories recorded in the Word should create an emotional response within us, prodding us to ask the right questions. When the right questions are asked, then and only then, can God proceed to reveal the answer. The imagery that the Almighty has painted across His Word, especially in the Torah, reveals powerful truths about Messiah and the promise of redemption. The Aaronic blessing paints a profound picture of adoption! Let’s take another look at this blessing recorded in the book of Numbers.

22 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,

24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

      There are several perplexing statements in this blessing that seem to contradict one another. If the Almighty’s face is already shining on them, how can He then lift up His countenance upon them. It doesn’t make sense in it’s imagery, until you see the picture being painted by the words of the blessing: It is a father welcoming a small child into the family!

       The Hebrew word used for bless in Num.6:24 is barak. Barak is usually translated as “to bless”, but can also be translated as “to kneel down”. The Hebrew word used for

keep is shamar. Shamar not only means “to guard”, but also “to watch for and to have charge over”. Therefore, Num.6:24 is painting a picture of a new father kneeling down to watch for a new little one that he is going to have charge over as a parent. At the moment he sees the child. his face begins to shine with love, and his acceptance (grace) is given to the child. What would any new parent (or grandparent for that matter) do the moment he gets his hands on this new precious child? He would lift the child over his head to get a good look at him (or her) and allow the child to see the smile and love in his face. To accomplish this, not only is the child lifted up, but so is the countenance of the father! Then, the father wraps his arms around the child, while holding him to his chest. At that moment, the little child experiences the wonderful peace of finally being in daddy’s arms. This, my friend, is the peace (or shalom) of the Kingdom. The priesthood was speaking the Spirit of adoption over the nation of Israel!

The apostle Paul proclaimed to the church in Rome that the Holy Spirit was speaking this blessing over every newborn believer today.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

          At the altar of God, as we yield to the convicting power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of the gospel, the Almighty takes us into His arms, and the Spirit within us causes us to cry out, “Daddy, Father”. Just like in the first moments of a physical adoption into a family, when we are born again, the name of God was placed upon us. Only family members can carry the family’s name.”
